Over the past decade “The Head and the Heart” has emerged as a major band in the folk/rock genre. They were formed in 2009 after the band members met through a series of open mic nights in Seattle. Josiah Johnson (singer, guitarist) explained how the name of the band was chosen: “Your head is telling you to be stable and find a good job, you know in your heart that this (the band) is what you’re supposed to do even if it’s crazy.” Hurts (But It Goes Away) from their latest album, Every Shade of Blue, is new this week on RadiJohan.
